What is the Anti-Poverty Initiative?
The Anti-Poverty Initiative (formerly Circles®) is an innovative approach to ending poverty in our community.
A participant works within a network of support, leveraging community resources as they equip themselves on their journey out of poverty toward self sufficiency.
A network consists of:
• A participant (leads their household out of poverty)
• Partners (a network to support participants)
• Resources (curriculum, training, support and meetings)
The average Anti-Poverty Initiative participant in Evansville raised income by 87.2% and lowered public assistance by 48.9%.
